Day One 2015.01.01

Uppcycled daybed

Designed especially for the exhibition RE:DO & friends.

The wooden frame of the Day One daybed originates from a Vintage Danish daybed in teak, found at a Danish online Auctionhouse.

“We played with the story by Danish author ,HC. Andersen, The Princess and the Pea, says Marie-Louise Hellgren. Humor in an important ingredient in our process, as well as using discarded materials from industrial production. To Upcycle the daybed we used textile and leatherwaste and the mattresses contains only biodegradable materials.

Design decisions are dependant on what aste is available and found in the bins every day - “Form follows Waste” is my motto.
